Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Mourns the Death of Deputy Steven Tucker
LINCOLN COUNTY, MISSOURI – July 8, 2023 – It is with deep sadness that the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office announces the untimely passing of Deputy Steven Tucker, who tragically lost his life on July 8th, 2023. Deputy Tucker joined the sheriff’s office in 2023 and was assigned to the Court Services Bureau, where he served with utmost dedication and commitment.
The devastating incident occurred at approximately 7:25 PM on July 8th, 2023, when Deputy Tucker was off-duty riding his motorcycle northbound on Highway J in unincorporated Lincoln County. Regrettably, a vehicle traveling southbound crossed the center line, colliding head-on with Deputy Tucker’s motorcycle, resulting in fatal injuries. The Missouri State Highway Patrol promptly responded to the scene and has initiated a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Deputy Steven Tucker embodied the spirit of service, honor, and selflessness, exemplifying the qualities expected of a law enforcement professional. His unwavering commitment to protecting and serving the community will forever be remembered by his colleagues and the citizens he served. Deputy Tucker’s loss is a significant blow to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and he will be deeply missed by his fellow deputies, friends, and family.
