(Troy, MO) An investigation is currently underway into the circumstances surrounding the in-custody death of an inmate housed at the Lincoln County Jail.
On 10/05/2023, Corrections Officers at the Lincoln County Jail located an unresponsive 27-year-old man inside his cell at the Facility. Jail staff immediately attempted to perform life-saving measures on the individual. The Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services also responded to the scene. The inmate was pronounced deceased at the scene at 11:42 AM.
Sheriff Rick Harrell has requested the St. Charles County Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) to investigate the death of the inmate. The final cause and manner of death will be determined by the Lincoln County Coroner’s Office.
